What have we done this year?
January 2012 – Help the Hospices
Staff at our Wythall office raised £998.41 for Help the Hospices by participating in a charity dress-down day, and holding a cake sale and raffle. The Group matched this amount pound for pound, so in total £1,996.82 was donated to the cause.
Help the Hospices is a UK charity for hospice care. Their vision is for everyone at the end of their life to have access to the best possible care. They offer services to support hospice and palliative care professionals as they in turn support patients.

February 2012 – Workplace Awareness Event in aid of Diabetes UK
Staff from our Phoenix Life office in Wythall participated in an awareness event, promoting our Corporate Responsibility Programme, and in particular the Workplace element.
Staff raised £521.38 by dressing down in 'denim' and selling tickets for a health and wellbeing themed raffle. Phoenix matched this pound for pound, so £1,042.76 will be donated to our chosen charity Diabetes UK.
The event started with a low-impact exercise class, then during the lunchtime period an array of information was available to staff, with various exhibitors attending the event. Staff were able to have their cholesterol and blood pressure tested, understand more about good posture and how to sit correctly, experience a massage demonstration, view alternative therapies, pick up information on the importance of maintaining a good balanced diet, and key to the day - talk to one of the volunteers from Diabetes UK.
Diabetes UK is the leading UK charity that cares for, connects with and campaigns on behalf of all people affected by and at risk of diabetes. For more information about Diabetes UK, please visit their website.
